Itinerary

Day 1 - Bergamo - Averara - Camerata Cornello

Arrival at the airport and transfer to Camerata Cornello, to one of the most beautiful village of Italy: Cornello dei Tasso, where we check-in at a cosy medieval property. Lunch free on the way and in the afternoon we move to Averara, a small mountain village to visit an alchemical laboratory and a medicinal herb garden. A unique and curious small firm in which the harvested medicinal plants are processed to produce cosmetics: a must-visit of this valley. We then enjoy a nice walk on the village centre to then move to the restaurant for dinner.  Back to La Tana del Tasso or similar for the overnight.

Day 2 - Cornello dei Tasso - Via Mercatorum - Oneta - San Pellegrino Terme

After breakfast, we enjoy a guided tour of Cornello dei Tasso, one of the most beautiful village of Italy and homeland of the the Tasso Family, the creator of the modern post system. After the visit we take a nice walk along the ancient Via Mercatorum (an ancient merchant path) and we reach Oneta, where we visit the house of Harlequin (a carnival mask who is said to be born here).

Lunch in the hamlet, we walk back and enjoy a bit of free time to feel the quitness of Cornello dei Tasso. In the late afternoon we move to San Pellegrino Terme, worldwide famous for its water, to relax at the thermal bath* in an enchanting Art Noveau building: the Casino. (*Alternatively we can enjoy a guided tour of the city, famous for having been a favorite tourist destination for kings, queens, aristocrats, nobles and famous writers since the early 20th century. We will admire the Grand Hotel and Casino, which is considered one of the greatest expressions of the Art Nouveau style in architecture, known throughout Europe.)

After dinner, back to La Tana del Tasso for the overnight.

Day 3 - Camerata Cornello - Bergamo

After breakfast we check-out and say good-bye to Cornello dei Tasso to then drive towards Bergamo where we enjoy a visit of the medieval Città Alta (the upper town).

We will enter the city, perched on the hill and surrounded by its Venetian UNESCO walls, using a century-old funicular railway, we continue through the medieval streets and alleys of the city that still retains the layout of its ancient streets and the medieval and Renaissance atmosphere evoked by Piazza Vecchia and Piazza del Duomo.
We continue with a sweet walk tasting some of Bergamo’s typical sweets including Stracciatella, which originated from an ancient pastry shop in this city. We conclude our visit by walking down the walls and then head to the airport to board the flight.

FAQ

When can I travel ?

 All the year round. Suggested day of departure on Friday as day 1, but the itinerary can be taylor-made and adapt also to other days (depending on opening time and availability). 

How much does it cost ?

On request – quotations can be from 2 to 14 pax. The itinerary can be tailormade on request.

 

How's the climate ?

We are on a mountain region, with mid summers (from 20°C to 27°C) and cold winters (from -5°C to 13°C), during autumn and spring emperatures are warm and the landscapes are full of colors, and the rainfall are occasional. The weather is generally pleasant enough to experience the region.

Are meals included ?

Breakfast on day 2 and day 3; lunch on day 2 and dinners on day1 and 2; local tasting on day 3.

Which transportation will be used ?

Private van or car, quote extra on request.

For logistics or technical reasons, the itinerary can be run with some amendments on the sequence of the visits and excursions.
